General Norms/ Rules

All external memberships are subject to the approval of the Librarian.
Our LIC service is available for external members from Monday to Friday between 9:00 am to 5:30 pm only.
External membership will be valid from the fee paid receipt onwards to the applicable period.
Some online resource access is unavailable for external members, as license agreements do not permit it. (Prevailing copyright laws applicable).
Photocopy of entire book/s and journal/s is not allowed. The photocopy is allowed as per the prevailing copyright act. For availing of limited photocopy and print service, charges would be Rs.2/-per exposure.
The computers in the LIC are meant for accessing electronic resources only. Access to social networking sites and checking emails etc., are strictly prohibited.
The membership card is for LIC use only, and it should not be used for any other purpose.
The membership is non-transferable. Only the designated person can use the membership facility, and the accompanying person is not permitted.
The members should take care of the furniture and equipment while using them in the LIC.
External members should note that all the LIC facilities, resources, and services would be provided to the IIMK community on a priority basis.
At a time, a maximum of two institutional (academic) members can avail the IIMK LIC services. They should bring their institute ID card and IIMK LIC ID card when visiting the IIMK LIC.
Membership may be cancelled/withdrawn/rejected at any time at the discretion of the IIM Kozhikode LIC.
Remote access to IIM Kozhikode LIC resources will not be provided under the external membership category.

Norms / Rules for Borrowing books

The book/s would be issued for 30 days. Renewal can be done if there is no reservation on the book.
Due dates are to be followed strictly. If a member fails to renew or return a borrowed item on time, an overdue charge of Re.2/- per day per book would be levied until returned or renewed. Frequent defaulting in return of books may lead to cancellation of membership.
IF you lost the membership card, it should be reported immediately to the Circulation In-charge. Duplicate cards will cost INR 500/- per card*. Please note that the rules and regulations are subject to change.

** For Retired faculty from other institutions, recommendations by IIMK faculty is required.
