Kozhikode is a quaint little city on the west cost of India with a history of more than two thousand years. In ancient days, this city was a major port acting as the hub of trade between west and east. Greeks, Chinese and Arabs frequented Kozhikode to source the exotic spices like pepper and cardamom. Vasco Da Gama, the famous Portuguese sea farer touched Indian shores at Kozhikode in the year 1498 opening up a sea route top India for the European nations.
Kozhikode can be considered as a hub from where to explore Kerala state which is a major tourism attraction. Forests, wildlife, backwater cruises, pristine beaches, exotic dance forms, verdant green mountains, spice trails, and a rich and varied cuisine – no wonder Kerala has earned the sobriquet 'God's own country'.
