GloHMT- The Way Forward
International Conference on Global Health & Medical Tourism
Medical tourism, more broadly health and wellness tourism, refers to the industry in which people from across the globe travel to other countries to get medical care, and simultaneously, visit the indigenous fascinations of the country.

Over the years, India has grown to become a top-notch destination for medical tourism because it scores extraordinary in terms of the holistic quality care in many factors like: quality and options of treatment, infrastructure and expert personnel, less or no waiting time, and the like. Not only does the healthcare system in India maintain a stringent accreditation system but also has a large number of JCI (Joint Commission International) accredited hospitals, and this very fact makes it fare well amongst other Asian countries. India also attracts medical tourists due to a number of alternative medicine techniques such as Ayurveda, Sidha, Unani, Yoga, Acupuncture and Homeopathy.

It is in this context, the International Conference on Global Health & Medical Tourism (GloHMT) co-organised by IIM Kozhikode and IIHMR University, Jaipur attempts to bring in the academicians, medical practitioners, CEOs of hospitals, pharmaceutical, and surgical instruments companies to jointly discuss and deliberate through plenary sessions, panel discussion, and paper presentations on the theme Global Health and Medical Tourism.
